Whenever you replace the imaging drum unit in your Dell 2330 or 2350, you have to manually reset the life counter so the printer knows you put in a new one. Otherwise, it will continue to blink its indicator lights saying, “Ahh, this imaging unit is old and stale. Give me a new one!”

So how do you reset the life counter? It’s super easy. Just follow these steps:

Reset Life Counter

1. With the power on, open the front door.
2. Press and hold the cancel button (X). After a few seconds, the printer will flash its indicator lights telling you it’s resetting the life counter. At this point, you can release the cancel button.
3. Close the front door.
4. The printer should restart automatically. If it doesn’t, turn it off then turn it back on.
5. Enjoy your new imaging unit!
