Printers are surprisingly sophisticated machines, especially laser printers. There are thousands of processes that must take place simultaneously and in succession to get the nicely printed page you see coming out of the printer.

That is why it is so important that you have the correct settings when printing on different kinds of media. For example, printing on labels requires higher fuser temperatures to cook the toner on the page so it doesn’t smear as well as slower speeds to avoid paper jams.
