Thermal Label Core Sizes
It is easy to assume that labels are a very simple product, and in many regards that is fair, they are by design rudimentary. There are no intricate pieces on labels, no complex procedures, and no outstanding features that make them difficult to handle. Despite its straightforwardness, though, there are a few key distinctions that are important between Thermal Printing Labels – the following blog post will be going over label core sizes.
- In the label world, there are typically two primary sizes of label cores: the 1” and 3” core. The core itself is the brown cardboard center around which the labels are wrapped.
- Along with the core size, another key difference is the labels’ outer diameter. It is important to note, as well, that the measurement of diameter includes both the labels themselves and the core. Although the outer diameter could be of a varying range of sizes, a 1” core size will not exceed a maximum 4” diameter. Additionally, a core with measurements of 3” will not have a maximum diameter beyond 8”.
- Last to note, it should be known that the sizes discussed in this blog post apply only to Thermal Label rolls. Label types such as sheeted and fanfold do not have core sizes.
