Troubleshooting: Grinding/Squealing

Are you experiencing a grinding or squealing sound in your printer? Any sort of abnormal sound is almost always due to the toner cartridge or drum unit.
The difficulty with this problem is that it is usually caused by a component failure within the cartridge or drum unit. Since these products have over 50 moving parts within them, it’s not something that can be easily troubleshooted or fixed.
Our recommendation is to immediately order a new cartridge or drum unit, and to not use your printer until the piece is replaced. If it’s used, it could cause more damage within the actual printer, which leads to a much more expensive fix.
