Troubleshooting Tips: What to do when your Lexmark T65x laser printer is printing blank pages
Although a rare occurrence, sometimes a laser printer can print completely blank pages. Instead of immediately having the cartridge replaced, try this simple trick. It may not work a 100% of the time but it could fix it without having to replace the cartridge!
Toner Cartridge Trap Door. In order for a toner cartridge to transfer toner onto paper, the printer must be able to write it’s laser onto the cartridge drum. If the trap door of the cartridge is stuck, it will block the laser from writing onto the drum and you will get blank pages. To fix it, take out your toner cartridge and put it on a flat surface. On top of the middle of the cartridge you should see the trap door.
This trap door should move freely. If it is stuck, then try to loosen it by pressing down on it a few times.
Once it feels loosened up, install it back into the printer and try printing your document. If that worked, go ahead and do a victory dance.
If you’re still getting blank pages, the toner cartridge may be defective or there may be something wrong with the printer. You can call us at 800-587-1173 and our technicians will be happy to help you determine the problem and find a solution!
